Our Story

Well, more accurately, Our Current Chapter.

We are in the process of selling and shedding the excess material gains of our lives and preparing to hit the road for about a year.

We started our family in a motor home, over 7 years ago and are now feeling like the nesting stage of our lives is closing. We love Coeur d'Alene and still feel it is the place to raise our family but we have always said, and still believe, that only works if we travel here and there as well.

We have finally decided on an occupational title for Robb (not counting daddy) he is a consultant. For years we've fielded the question "What does Robb do?" and I don't think we've ever satisfied an inquisitor. This probably won't either but it is less obnoxious than the 'trophy husband' joke we were entertaining :)
We feel so fortunate to be embarking on this adventure and having our own traveling mechanic absolute amazing fix it and find it man helps a bit. We hope to find some jobs to do on the road to help us along, we just haven't figured out how to advertise our "do-it-all guy" yet.

We are going to be 'road schooling' the kids next year. I am so excited, a little nervous, but mostly excited. The opportunities are amazingly abundant. We're lucky that the kids are in a position that if we did not do any traditional reading, writing, arithmetic lessons they'd still be ahead of the game, though, of course we will have the basic curriculum along the way. The main focus will be the experiences we encounter. Through journals and photography and mediums I haven't even considered yet, the kids will be able to record and explore their experiences and lessons completely uniquely.

Why are we doing this?
Because we can.

But more specifically, we've noticed that our children are growing up ridiculously fast and we want to mindfully live this time with them.

Also, with our choice to live way up here in Coeur d'Alene comes the consequence of not getting to see all of you as often as we'd like so we're coming to visit our friends and family who have, conveniently, spread themselves out all over this beautiful country.

And, speaking of this beautiful country, we are very much looking forward to exploring it with our children and doing some hands on learning and living.
