On our way home we saw NINE elk (two bucks) wandering about.
And that was after I commented to Robb how much I love living out here!?

Horse rides and Dutch oven dessert
Going to the Nethercotts' is better than Disneyland.
Baby pigs, chickens, and a new puppy have joined the zoo since our last lovely visit.
We has an incredibly enjoyable day with our good friends and we are, as always, grateful for the amazing people in our lives.

The swimsuit saga continues
So miss yellow polka dot bikini just complained about being cold!
"Really?" I asked, sipping my hot tea wearing pants and a sweatshirt. "MAYBE YOU SHOULD CHANGE!!!"
I said ever so sweetly.
This was her solution.
Yea, that should help.

Swimsuit
Jillian has decided she only wants to wear swimsuits.
It would be fine (most days anyway) except for the fact that our HIGHS the past few days are in the 60's!!!
Though through all my exasperated sighing of appeal choice she certainly held the cards yesterday. the kids' game of balloon volleyball was suddenly enlivened by a flash rainstorm.

Locks of love
Jamie was inspired by Aki when we saw her last year and decided we should do the same.
She said she remembered how much aunt Bette appreciated having a wig when she needed one after chemo and she would like us to help kids who need hair pieces.
Final pics to follow!

Sleepover
Guess who had a sleepover!!
I think he has a little issue with the pink crocs ;) but no one cares what you wear on the way to the trampoline!!
Theory fits right into the family, almost makes us wish we had four :)

To laugh or not to laugh...
There comes a time in every parents life when they must make an important choice... Do I laugh or not?
If you're wondering I chose the snap a picture, giggle, and then untangle method.
It's a bungee cord that stretches across the trampoline to play games with. I don't think her brother could have dreamt up a more entertaining game.

Blooms
I didn't think it could possibly get more beautiful around here.
It has.
Jillian and I went on a walk to collect wild flowers yesterday. We made a pretty little table bouquet but what was more exciting was the hint of what is to come!
Here are the apple and plum blossoms. The cherry have already passed!?
Wow!

Working Outside
We spent a wonderful day working outside. Unfortunately it was so cold this is how we had to dress!!
Oh well, the kids have declared it "fun" to bounce while it hails!?!
We pruned, cleared, and made another attempt at going through the garage and garden shed (the people before us left a load of stuff; some useful, some not-so-much.) We had a bonfire and got rid of a couple truck loads of things.
Not too shabby for a Saturday afternoon!

Science Project Presentation
Jamie is presenting two science projects today. She got up early and dressed up and had all her supplies packed :)
She is doing acid and base indicators and liquid collide (whipped cream.)
She should be a big hit!

Orange Juice
Robb borrowed his mom's juicer and let me tell you, no other mimosa could compare.
It was really funny when he brought it in because we had the exact same juicer when I was little. (ahhh I can still smell dad's pancakes and taste the fresh squeezed orange juice... which I promptly spit out because it had pulp in it and refused to drink until it was strained into a near water consistency..... oh thank goodness none of my children followed me down that picky eating path!)
I did try to insist that ours was bigger, but apparently Robb thought the same about his so it seems a lot of things look smaller when you grow up. But the best part is that little label that says made in the USA; how retro :)
