6 Years Old

Bobby turned six while we were up in Schweitzer. It was such a great time! Our friends got him his first pocket knife, I'm not saying he loves it, but he slept with it that night.
We took the kids mountain biking. They did amazing. Jillian, I gathered, was not too impressed; she fell asleep in her seat on Daddy's bike.

Tasha brought home some organic carrot cupcakes then we all went to the Dive in downtown Sandpoint. They have all sorts of games - skeeball, pool, ping pong, air hockey, basketball, video games, shuffleboard, a mechanical bull, etc.; all for free. Needless to say the kids had a blast, ok, we all had a blast!! The pictures from the Dive are on the other camera and since we are on battery my computer time is a bit limited. I'll keep trying.

We're down in Moscow now, after a stop in Coeur d'Alene to tie up some loose ends. We love this town, we spent the day riding bikes and walking around downtown. We are heading down to the Salmon River tomorrow on some very enthusiastic recommendations.

Schweitzer

We are up here at Schweitzer Mountain, and in love! We are staying in the resort lower parking, right up the hill from our friends. We have shared such great times; delicious meals, fascinating conversation, and good soul warming hospitality we could end our trip now and count it a success!

I went on my first mountain biking adventure (death march) with the intention of finding eldrberries. We came back soaked from torential rains, shaking from complete exhaustion, and empty handed. Thank you Tasha, because I wouldn't trade the experience for anything! Ok, the steam shower follow up didn't hurt my recollection of the day! (Definite on the wish list for our house we will someday build!)

The kids have enjoyed some down and dirty fun; mountain biking, shooting bbq guns, new friends, nail polish, riding bikes down stairs and ramps, french braids, hucklelberry sourdough pancakes, deep, deep bubble baths, and more rain than you can imagine! We've even managed to squeeze in a bunch of school work!
We can say with certainty that we are in good company, Jillian crawled up into our friend's lap last night and fell asleep.

If this is any indication of the trip to come, we're as blessed, lucky, fortunate (choose what rings best for you) as a family could be.

Bedroom Pictures

Sounds risque, but with 5 bunks in the bedroom I think we all know better!

Such a magically cozy way to spend a rainy morning; reading in the bunks!

We had a great day at school, we wrote in journals, we smudged the 'house', we started state reports, we ate raw garlic, did some math and, the point of it all; had a fantastic time together!

Ok, fine, we didn't leave. Robb worked until midnight last night and we're crossing our fingers for tomorrow... tomorrow... tomorrow....

Every Little Bit Helps

We are actually leaving the county tomorrow.

People are getting mighty tired of saying good-bye to us and they are starting to doubt that we're really going.

I ran into a gal I know today. She said, "I thought you had left already left."
To which I replied "We have, we're just here getting the muffler done." Basically now I just sound crazy. So that's good.

Tomorrow we're going up to Sandpoint, more specifically to Schweitzer. Our friends live right on the mountain and have a place for us to park.

Ok, I'll admit; we, at least Robb, has to come back to town next week for a day, maybe two, to take care of some business. I'm hoping to have him just drive the truck down so I might avoid running into someone else and give them the opportunity too, to think I've lost my marbles!!

We have started school and it's going great so far. My brother asked if my kids like their teacher this year, haha.

Sleeping Tales

We're not from our point of origin but we're having a grand time already!

The first night, I admit, I didn't get too much sleep; new place, new sounds, new bed etc.

Bobby's bunk is right above mine and at about 3am when I saw his foot come over the side I was sure he was going to roll out of bed. With cat like reflexes I grabbed his foot ready to .... I'm not sure what my plan was but at least I could break his fall when he came (or more likely break his leg at the angle we were at.) Then I hear "Mom, let go, I'm getting down to go to the bathroom." Oh, well, proceed, and here is your foot back.

Jillian is still getting used to sleeping in her own bed. She is doing this by getting into my bed (not until 5am last night... we're improving.) I did discover the benefit to this as I came back from the very cold bathroom last night and she was like my own little foot warmer.

Jamie is embracing our new life style.

Yes, I will have pictures of the completed rig soon :) I love it, it is exactly what I wanted!

Kids Today

We are staying at Robb's brother's motel (by far the best place to stay in Coeur d Alene) I am trying to make a link, silly smart phone. Well here: WWW.resortcityinn.com but I digress.

So the kids were in the room next door watching a movie. We went over the other room number again and again with instructions to call if they needed us. After a bit they were at our door to ask why we hadn't answered the phone (which had not rung.) I asked what number they had been calling, they had it right. So I tried it myself. Jamie watching closely says "Oh, you pick it up first, then you dial!"

Land lines: gets 'em everytime.

Baby Steps

We are on our way, slowly but surely! We are 99% out of the house, and 60% settled into the rig. We have so many people to be grateful to, it is overwhelming! Our family and friends have made the seemingly impossible happen. I'd love to thank everyone individually but between being physically and mentally spent and trying to write this from our new phone I'll have to let a universal thank you suffice. I will have pictures soon but I will say, so far it is turning out beyond my hopes or expectations!

The Lull Before the Storm

I feel like I am sitting on the edge of my seat. I'm going over tomorrow to clean the rig and ... barring any unforeseen hiccups ... it will be here for us to pack on Friday?! We are beyond excited and beyond ready to get going!

We sign on the house on Friday afternoon and are scheduled to close on Tuesday.

There are a couple of turn-overs at the office to take care of before we head out of town but we'll do that from the rig if need be.

I have a bottle of champers chilled and ready to christen our trip!

For now, I'll go enjoy a full-sized oven and bathtub for our night's agenda.
