When it Rains it Pours

And in this case it poured.

Robb tweaked his back on Monday, so much so that I was putting his socks on for him. Needless to say that work on the rig was a bit slower than we had planned, but we made some progress, and slowly he started to loosen up and heal.

Then Thursday night macho man pushed a car (Mom and Dad's transmission went out, I won't even go into how bad Dad's day was going) and re-tweaked his back.

Then Friday morning the toilet overflowed, Robb grabbed the tank and tha-twacked his back and the bathroom flooded. We mopped up and left it as he hoped the pipes would drain out and he could roto-root.

I took the kids to the beach with some friends, had a great time until the bike ride home when I started to feel sick, but the time I got home I was sun dazzled and had to lay down as I was sure I was going to be sick and my head was pounding so hard I couldn't see straight.

In my hazy stupor I did hear Robb call for the kids to bring him towels, what I didn't hear until I got up was the s*%$ shower Robb took in the basement as apparently the pipes had not drained out, add a broken roto rooter in the pipe and tracked feces throughout the house and you get a snapshot into his day.

Robb swore that people had had worse days, he knew they had, it was just hard to imagine. He finally settled on the idea that loosing a limb would have been much worse.

But we got cleaned up and made in just in time for a summer party at Glen's where we enjoyed a perfect evening of great food, music (thank you Lex) and friends in the magical garden Glen and Hannah have created. We said good-bye to some friends and neighbors we won't be seeing for a while and shed a few tears with love.

And as Robb and I sat together late that night with the kids asleep in their beds his most poignant memory of the day was how much he appreciated his brother being there with him, dropping his busy schedule and just helping out. You can't really ask for more.

And for once, it's probably best that I have no pictures to share, though the mental pictures are burned in our brains forever (blech!)

Thoughts #2-15- BBwwaahhhhH!!!! OMGoodness! I can only imagine what that whole day looked like! You poor things! I cant beleive you got it all cleaned up, then yourselves and off to Glen's! WOW!!!! Hope things are going better!
News on our front- I woke up with a very kinked neck. THe kind you turn just right and you grimace in pain. ALso- walking into the movie theater (Shrek Forever and ever)I tweaked my good knee and can barely walk on it. I think I have torn something in there...I really do! Tomorrow we drive down to BH again. Thursday night it took 4 hours to drive home as there was some sort of shooting on or near the freeway, which backed up traffic and we sat in it FOREVER. Finally at 11:30pm we got home. Ugh. So see- we may not be covered in poo, but we still have sh** happen quite often!
    Hugs and kisses!
